L.A. Yuri’ s Night 09. April 2016
With Samantha Cristoforetti
Yuri’s Night is a global celebration of humanity’s past, present, and future in space. Yuri’s Night parties and events are held around the world every April in commemoration of Yuri Gagarin becoming the first human to venture into space on April 12, 1961, and the inaugural launch of the first Space Shuttle on April 12, 1981.
Women’s and Europe’s record holder for the longest uninterrupted mission in space with 200 days, while aboard the International Space Station a year ago, engineer, Esa astronaut and Italian Air Force captain Samantha Cristoforetti will speak at Yuri’s Night in Los Angeles this year with extra attractions and prestigious guests: the legend himself Buzz Aldrin, who walked on the Moon and is looking further to Mars.
