Asteroid Day 2016
Asteroid Day is a global movement founded in 2015 by Dr. Brian May, astrophysicist and guitarist for the rock band Queen. It is held on the anniversary of the 1908 Siberian Tunguska event, the largest asteroid impact on Earth in recent history: more than 2,000 square kilometers of forest in central Siberia were effected by the impact.
Asteroid Day’s Signatories include distinguished scientists, astronauts, entertainers, authors from around the world.
Self-organized events around the globe promote knowledge and awareness of asteroids, the threat they represents for our communities, cities and our planet. To join the movement, to sign the 100x declaration, and for detailed information, please visit Asteroid Day
